SYNOPSIS

The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) launched the 2025 LIFE funding round, offering a total of around €600 million to support Europe’s environmental and climate goals.

The LIFE Program operates through four sub-programs:

  • Nature & Biodiversity

  • Circular Economy & Quality of Life

  • Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation

  • Clean Energy Transition

Applicants can pursue funding through multiple tracks:

  • Standard Action Projects (SAPs) – Single-stage grants for practical, replicable solutions across environment, nature, waste, climate, governance, and information—deadline 23 September 2025. THIS MIGHT BE THE MOST RELEVANT TRACK FOR MOST OF OUR CLIENTS

  • Coordination & Support Actions (CSAs) – Particularly under the Clean Energy Transition sub-program, with dedicated funding for capacity-building (€91.4M).

  • Strategic Integrated Projects (SIPs/SNAPs) – Multi-stage, large-scale strategic projects, with concept note due 4 September 2025 and full application by 5 March 2026.

  • Technical Assistance (TA) – Including assistance for replication activities, with a max of €1 million per project and funded at 60%.

  • Preparatory and Policy Actions (PLP) – Targeted calls aligned with new legislative and policy needs (€23.8M)
